Terms

DigDig · updated 1 October 2026

These terms are the rules for playing DigDig, the map game about your own city. By using the app, or signing in on a DigDig share page, you agree to them. They sit alongside the privacy page, which says what DigDig keeps and why. "We" means DigDig and Amith Chandrappa, who makes it.

Who can play

You must be at least 13 to play, or 16 where the law where you live requires a higher age. DigDig is not directed at children below that age.

Your account

Play fair

DigDig is a game against real people. To keep it fair, do not:

Groups of friends working together to take a place is part of the game, and is fine.

If we think an account breaks these rules, we may keep it off the boards while we look, take back digs or rewards it gained unfairly, reset it, or ban it. A banned player cannot dig. Their squares may stay on the map as history.

Digs, squares and purchases

What you put in

Your display name, photo and character are shown to everyone: on the map, on the boards, in the Feed and on share cards and pages. They must not:

We may hide or change a name or photo that breaks these rules (a hidden name shows as "Player" and a number), and act on reports from other players. You keep the rights to your photo; you let us show it in the game, on share cards and on share pages, for as long as you use it in DigDig.

Places on the map are named from public map data. A square's name is a label, not a claim about that place.

The game changes

DigDig is a live game. We may change the rules and the numbers (free digs, limits, rewards, the Golden Square, boards, dares and more), change which squares can be dug, pause digging in a place, add or end events and features, and fix squares or boards after a bug. We try to keep changes fair to everyone who plays.

Keeping the game running

We work to keep DigDig running, but it may sometimes be slow or unavailable, for example during updates or outages. Game data can be lost or wrong after a fault; where we can, we put it right. We may stop offering DigDig in the future.

No guarantees

DigDig is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always work, be free of bugs or suit any particular purpose. The map is for playing the game, not for finding your way; do not use it to navigate, and never play while driving, riding or crossing a road.

Nothing in these terms limits or takes away any rights you have under the law where you live.

Ending your account

You can stop playing and delete your account at any time: Me › Account › Delete account. The privacy page says what deleting removes and what stays. We may end or suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters, we will say so in the app. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of the country where you live.
